GBFPC Youth Choir thanks Valerie Ollis for
dedication and sacrifice

The GBFPC Youth Choir said thank you on Sunday night to Valerie Ollis for more than three years of hard work and dedication. Valerie was the head musician for the youth choir. She married David Ollis on Saturday, May 2 and will be moving to North Carolina.

Valerie came on board with the youth choir more than three years ago in a leadership change that also brought Frank and Alicia Cabrera as the youth choir directors. Valerie helped develop vocalists and younger musicans. She wrote out music for songs the choir sang and helped teach parts.

"Valerie was with us from the very beginning," Frank Cabrera said. "She remained faithful and dedicated throughout her tenure with youth choir."

The youth choir presented her with a gift the last night that she played for the choir. They gave her a group picture of the choir on a recent singing event in San Diego. They also presented her with an engraved piano.

She was a leader in prayer and in worship. "She developed musically and spiritually while at the same time helping others develop," Frank said. "We will greatly miss her leadership."
